You may want to download a CSV from a source such as Excel or Google Docs to import it into Clay. This can save you tons of time in copying over data that you can later use with Clay’s 70+ integrations. In this video, Matthew started with a list of tech companies and basic information that he wanted to transfer from Google Sheets into Clay. Here’s how he does it:

Step 1: In Google Sheets, go to “Download As” and selects CSV. If you’re on Excel, you would do this in the “Save As” section.

Step 2: After downloading the CSV, go to Clay and click the “New Table” button. After that, you can just upload or drag/drop the CSV file into Clay, where it will populate into your Clay table.

From there, you can use this data in combination with some of our enrichments, and then export the data back out into csv form, to CRMs, and more! We hope this helps, and happy prospecting ⛏

Importing a CSV into Clay to use as a data source is incredibly easy: just drag and drop it into our native CSV converter and the table will automatically populate! From there, you can easily add additional information or begin to use our 70+ integrations with your data.

Don’t think we would leave you hanging when it came to finding leads, too- if you don’t have any at the moment, we have a super cool and powerful tool that can help you do it. Our LinkedIn source allows you to pull LinkedIn profiles into Clay based on set criteria, including keywords, job title, company, location, and more. You can also limit the amount of profiles that are pulled in if needed. In this video, Matthew demonstrates the capabilities of the LinkedIn source by defining some criteria to pull a few potential prospects in. Here’s how he does it:Step 1: Go to Clay, click “New Table” and find the “LinkedIn Profiles” source. Step 2: After opening the source, begin to define your criteria. You can set multiple criteria per dialogue box- for example, Matthew decides that he wants people who match the job title of Founder, Co-Founder, and CEO. Step 3: Click “continue” and then select whether you’d like to add the data to a new table or to an existing table. After that, your LinkedIn profiles will populate the table and you’ll be able to enrich them for further data! These profiles are a great place to start when using Clay because you’re easily able to get most of the information needed to start using our other integrations. We hope this helps, and happy prospecting!

Bring accounts into your Clay table for further enrichment.

Enriching a list of Companies via our LinkedIn integration is an amazing way to find more data points on a potential prospect. This integration is one of our most popular because of how easy it is to find info like contact information, decision makers, and more.

In this video, Matthew gives us a quick tutorial on how to use this integration with just a list of company domains. It’s preferable to have a list of company LinkedIn profiles, but even with just domains the integration is surprisingly effective. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Aggregate a list of company domains or LinkedIn accounts. You can do this through our LinkedIn/Google sources, manual input, or import the data from elsewhere such as a CSV.

Step 2: Go to “Enrich Data” and find our “Enrich Company” LinkedIn integration. From there, you can throw your column into one of the prompt boxes and click “Run”.

You will then see that each of your companies should be enriched, providing you a result. When you click on a result, you’ll see hundreds of data points from each company that can then be mapped out to your table for further enrichment.

We hope this helps, feel free to reach out to us if you have any further questions, and happy prospecting!

Use our LinkedIn enrichments to pull hundreds of data points from a profile.

An absolutely dangerous combination can be found with the merging of two Clay integrations - Scrape Website and OpenAI.

The former of the two allows you to scrape any site for a defined set of characteristics- this could be keywords, images, files, and more. It can do so at scale and can allow you to map these out at scale into your Clay table.

Our OpenAi integration allows you to write hyper-personalized messaging using information that is already located in your Clay table.

In this video, Matthew shows us a super cool way of applying these two integrations for personalization that seems impossible to have been automated- but it is. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Have an aggregated list of websites that you can use with our “Scrape Website” integration. This can be done through our Google source, manually, or with a variety of our existing integrations (like our LinkedIn “enrich company”) integration.

Step 2: Go to our “Scrape Website” integration. You’ll have to throw in your website column where it asks for it, and then you can select what kind of data you’d like to scrape. For this, we recommend at least some sort of company description or mission statement so we have a lot of information to feed to OpenAI. Then, run the integration

Step 3: Open up the OpenAI “Complete Prompt” integration. You’ll want to know what sort of outreach material you’re writing before doing this. For example though, lets say that you’re reaching out to prospects and want them to know that you align with your mission statement. In this situation, you can tell OpenAI to write an email that quickly summarizes their mission statement and then tells the prospect why your solution aligns with said statement. Trying a few different prompts is recommended as it can help perfect the messaging. After you’ve written a good one down, click “Save Changes” and then run the integration.

Combining these two tools give you hundreds of different ways to hyper-personalize your outreach messaging for prospects, making sure that you stand out from any other outbound contact they may receive. We hope this helps, and happy prospecting!

Clay is a must-have tool for recruiting agencies due to its 70+ integrations designed specifically to find and vet the right candidates, based on your own criteria. In this video, Varun talks about a few of the awesome ways you can use Clay to find your dream recruits.

There are a few ways to import LinkedIn profiles (including our LinkedIn source), and Varun uses our Google Search source to do it. All this requires is to open the Google Search Source, type which job position you’re looking to recruit for, specify that you only want them to search within LinkedIn (use “site:linkedin.in” for this), and then to click run after specifying how many results you want.

Your Clay table will soon populate with results, and you can select which information you’d like to map out for further use. From there you’re able to use one (or many) of our 70+ integrations to vet your recruits, find their contact information, and get more conversions! Clay is the perfect tool for outbound agencies because we have 70+ integrations that are made specifically to import data, enrich it, and use it for outbound sales. One of the most common problems that Outbound agencies come to us for is to personalize their outreach as much as possible; Eric demonstrates just that for us in this video. Here’s how to do it:

First, import a contact list with information (usually names, emails, or Linkedin profile links) that can be used with our enrichments. Then, use one of our 70+ enrichments to find more information about the prospect (we have a ton of videos in our Learn Library to help with this). Then, you can use our OpenAI integration (video guide here) to personalize your outbound messaging!

We hope this helps, please reach out to us if you have any questions, and happy prospecting!
