Before you begin

Step 1:

Copy this template

First, copy the exact Clay workbook (two tables) we use to run this Claybook here

If you’re already a user, you’ll be directed to your workspace. If not, you’ll be prompted to create a free Clay account.

Step 2:

Set up Serper HTTP API call (table one) 

Next, using an HTTP API call in Clay, we need to import search results based on specific keywords you select. To do that, create a Serper account. Serper is a Google Search API that allows you to scrape search results into Clay. You’ll need a Serper account, Serper credits ($50 for 50K credits), and a Serper API key(found in your Serper dashboard once you login). 

Currently, this table is looking for accountants in Boston. Customize the HTTP API request column to search for keywords relevant to your business.  

Last, search results are imported from Serper, write search results to the second table where you can further enrich them.

Step 3:

Find brand colors with Imagga (table two) 

Just by setting up the Serper HTTP API call and writing data to the second table, a few actions will fire automatically: company enrichment, get website traffic from SEMRush, take a screenshot of the home page, and page speed insights. 

But since we want to personalize our SEO reports with our target account’s brand colors, we’re going to use a tool called Imagga.com (and another HTTP API call) to find them. Then we’ll run those brand color results through ChatGPT to find color codes for primary, secondary, and backup colors.

Step 4:

Customize Claygent prompt

Next, we’re going to customize the Claygent (Clay’s AI research agent) AI prompt to find specific keywords related to your industry.

Step 5

Generate report in Replit

Last, it’s time to generate your personalized SEO reports. 

For this to work in Replit, you need to either use the custom Replit API we created to run this, or build your own custom API in Replit. To get access to our API, reach out to me directly at TheKiln.com or on LinkedIn.
