Before you begin

Learning how to automate Tier 1 account research summaries in Google Docs can help you tailor outbound messaging to your prospects' most pressing strategic initiatives. This Claybook can help you:

To run this Claybook, you will need to use HTTP API enrichment in Clay, which is only available in certain paid plans (Explorer, Pro, Enterprise). Additionally, you will need to access webhooks in Zapier, which are also only available in paid plans.

Step 1:
Copy this template

First, copy this template in Clay.

If you’re already a user, you’ll be directed to your workspace. If not, you’ll be prompted to create a free Clay account.

Setup Google Doc template

Next, make a copy of the automated research Google Doc template here

Then, submit that template to Google Docs by creating a new template “from a template” (see demo walkthrough on the right)

Setup Zapier 

Open the shared Zapier template found here and click on "Try this zap" to import it to your workspace.

Then follow the interactive demo to the right to connect your zaps to Clay and Google Docs.

Step 4:

Setup Slack alerts

Connect your Slack account to Clay and choose the channel you want to send automated alerts to after Clay finishes a new research summary.

Automate account research with LinkedIn URLs

Copy and paste the LinkedIn profile URLs of your prospects into the third column of the table to automate account research.  

Use enriched data from recent posts, financials and firmographics, and prior work experience, to tailor your outbound messaging.
